FAQ

What is a strategy?

A strategy defines how an organisation will achieve their vision. It articulates the choices, options or action that will be taken to move the organisation from where they are today to where they want to be (vision).

Generally your strategy will incorporate the following components
Vision - where do you want to get to?
Starting point - where are you today?
Strategic priorities - what are the key things you will do to achieve your vision?
Roadmap - how will you structure your change activities to deliver the strategic priorities?

Why do I need a strategy?

The biggest value of strategy development does not come from the final deliverable it is from the process you follow. The value you gain from developing your strategy is the deep thinking, questioning and the conversations. From bringing a wide group of diverse people from across your organisation to contribute, to understand and to challenge. And gaining consensus and support for your future direction.

What will my strategy look like?

It is really important that your strategy reflects the tone, language and values of your organisation. Therefore, the look and feel will differ depending on who the strategy is for. I never use a template for the final strategy output, rather I use a structured approach throughout the strategy creation. This ensures nothing is missed; it encourages creativity and critical thinking and brings people on the journey.

The look, feel and size of the final strategy output should be directly linked to your engagement plan. Who are the consumers of the strategy? What do they need to know? How can you make them feel a part of the change? This is where it is important the tone is directly linked to your purpose and values and that it results in excitement and enthusiasm for the change you are about to embark on.

How do we shape a coaching engagement?

Everyone has different needs from coaching, I offer a flexible approach tailored to meet your needs.

In an initial session, we will focus on your goals and objectives from coaching. We will then schedule sessions that meet your needs and integrate with your work patterns. In addition to the scheduled coaching sessions, there is the opportunity for ‘ad-hoc’ conversations to support specific issues being faced to maximise the impact of the coaching sessions.

At all stages of the engagement we will ensure that value is being delivered and time used effectively.
