About me

I am a freelance strategy consultant with a passion for helping people and teams be more effective and successful through clarity of purpose and direction. Bringing together my experiences from working across data, technology and business teams in public, private and charity sectors, I work with organisations to develop business strategies and address data challenges, and also provide coaching and mentoring to individuals.

My career has always centered around Technology, Architecture and Strategy, starting as a Junior Business Analyst with Siemens, before moving to smaller manufacturing and technology companies, then joining Home Retail Group for 13 years. Here I became Lead Business Analyst, before transitioning into Architecture, initially as Process Architect and then Enterprise Architect for Argos Financial Services.

I then moved to Network Rail, and became their Lead Business Architect, where I developed the Business Architecture capability and led their Architecture Vision and Strategy design before partnering with the Chief Data Officer to develop the Information Governance Capability for Network Rail. After a brief time as Head of Strategy and Performance with Lloyds Banking Group. I established myself as a strategy consultant, coach and mentor.

After developing their charity strategy, I became a trustee for The Little Princess Trust; an amazing charity that provides real hair wigs to children and young people experiencing hair loss from cancer treatment and funds research to find kinder treatments and cures for childhood cancer.

Testimonials

“I had the pleasure of working with Emma recently in developing our Data Vision and Strategy. Emma is incredibly knowledgeable in the field, and was great at motivating and engaging with participants from across the organisation in the many workshops we ran. I had a great rapport with Emma and the relationship was more like team mates rather than a supplier, and I learned loads throughout. I can't recommend Emma highly enough!”
